David Hamlin, Professor of History and Chair of the History Department at Fordham University, will discuss the events leading up to Kristallnacht, and the impact of Kristallnacht on the religious, economic, and social dynamics of Jews within Germany and Nazi-occupied territory.

David Hamlin specializes in modern German history, and has written on German expansionism and eastern Europe as well as the rise of consumer society. His most recent book is Germany’s Empire in the East (Cambridge University Press).
