At our monthly Speaker Series, hear Holocaust survivors share their life stories in their own words.

On December 3, Sally Frishberg will share her history. Born in Poland in 1934, she lived with German soldiers and was hidden by Polish Catholics during the war.  She and her family were hidden in an attic for years. In 1945, she left Poland, arriving in the United States in 1947. In 1958 she became a teacher at Fort Hamilton High School, where she taught until 1991. In 2005 Sally was awarded the Yavner Award for Excellence in Holocaust Education by the State of New York. Sally was a Gallery Educator at the Museum for many years but now works as an active member of our Speakers Bureau.
