An exhibit opening Sunday at Manhattan’s Museum of Jewish Heritage recreates Israel’s astounding efforts to extricate Nazi minister of death Adolf Eichmann from his Buenos Aires hideaway. Not least: the bulletproof booth in which Eichmann stood trial in Jerusalem, in front of Holocaust survivors attesting to the horrors he wrought. Before Israel condemned Eichmann to death, the U.N. condemned Israel for swiping a war criminal. The only predictable part of this remarkable story.
