The Museum is launching a special initiative to raise funds to record the eyewitness accounts of Holocaust survivors before it is too late. These stories, from survivors living in the New York area who have never before recorded their testimony, are in danger of being lost forever. We hope you will make this initiative a priority as you consider your Giving Tuesday participation.
Many survivors never had the chance to tell their stories on video. With your help, a professional videographer and oral history interviewer will document the memories of these aging Holocaust survivors for the future, before it is too late.
Over the years the Museum has archived more than 3,800 survivor stories, which are invaluable to our mission of education and remembrance. It’s a remarkable collection of first-hand accounts accounts that document genocide and family, hope, strength, courage, and resilience, a selection of which we have made available below.
Survivor testimony is our most important educational resource. We hope you will help us reach our goal of $20,000 to preserve these first-hand accounts.
