During the Holocaust, more than 3,000 women fought back against the Nazis in ghettos, forced labor camps, concentration camps, and partisan units. This talk will focus on female resistance fighters Vitka Kempner, one of the first partisan leaders to blow up a German ammunition train with a grenade, and Sara Ginaite, who smuggled weapons into the ghetto and fought in the forests.
Dr. Lori R Weintrob (Director, Wagner College Holocaust Center) will be in conversation with Yiddish culture writer Rokhl Kafrissen (Tablet Magazine), followed by a live Q&A with viewers.
Please note: Due to some Facebook technical issues, we will be hosting this on Zoom.
