Tovah Feldshuh in Becoming Dr. Ruth

“A performance that’s one of the best of the year, and feels something close to profound.” – New York Theater

“This incredible one-woman show delights the audience with non-stop, irrepressible wit, charm and action by one of the most talented current theater actresses portraying one of the foremost nonagenarians alive today.” – Jewish Link

Returning to the stage in New York City this fall, six-time Tony- and Emmy-nominated actor Tovah Feldshuh stars in a tour-de-force theatrical show Becoming Dr. Ruth, presented Off-Broadway at Edmond J. Safra Hall at the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust.

The one-woman show, written by Mark St. Germain and directed by Bay Street Theater’s Artistic Director Scott Schwartz, chronicles the life of noted psychologist Dr. Ruth Westheimer, from her early years fleeing Nazi Germany, living as an orphan in Switzerland, to her service in the Israeli armed forces as a sharpshooter, and her later life and career in New York.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for people 5 years and older to enter the theater. Masks must be worn at all times.
