The Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust (NYC) stands with the groups, communities, and individuals targeted by white supremacist ideology and recent action in Charlottesville, Virginia.

As New York’s Holocaust Memorial Museum, we stand with those who recognize, respect, and celebrate human dignity. The testimony of Holocaust victims and survivors inspires us to answer calls from the present. We add our voices to the voices of those who resist white supremacist, anti-Semitic, and Nazi ideology and action. We demand of our leaders what we demand of ourselves—the sure and clear acknowledgment that this country has great and specific work to do. It is 2017. No American—no human being—should be made to feel unsafe by Nazi threats.

We extend our deepest condolences for the loss of Heather Heyer. We send our support to Charlottesville as it heals, and to the students of the University of Virginia as they reclaim their right to learn—and envision a world worthy of their futures—in peace.
