On September 9, 2007, Kirk Douglas spoke at the Museum of Jewish Heritage — A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, in conversation with journalist Budd Mishkin. The program, in which Douglas discussed his memoir Let’s Face It: 90 Years of Living, Loving, and Learning, was introduced by David Marwell, the Museum’s Director at that time.

Kirk Douglas, born Issur Danielovitch, was born to Jewish parents who spoke Yiddish in the home. Before entering the US Navy, he changed his name to Kirk Douglas, and later went on to become an international film star. As he aged, Douglas focused more on his spirituality and Judaism.

In the short clip below, from the 2007 Museum program recording, Douglas answers an audience member’s  question.
