Job Overview
Responsible for performing various cash, disbursement, and cash accounting activities within the Finance function.  Performs a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures.  This individual may be required to provide input to or participate in various projects and will perform other duties as requested.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide support to the team according to policies and procedures
  • Assist in journal creation/support maintenance and reconciliation and review for all revenue/accounts receivable streams and related bank account transactions
  • Prepare daily bank deposit
  • Assist in research and apply unallocated cash
  • Assist in the preparation of online banking activities
  • Research cash receipts, coding and posting of receipts
  • Help assign GL codes, prepare for review by management, and ensure journals are uploaded into appropriate financial systems
  • Assist in ensuring activities posted to both cash and assigned GL accounts are reviewed and reconciled in a timely manner
  • Assist in generating accounting statements and reports as required
  • Assist with month end, quarterly and year end reporting, audits and inquiries as required
  • Assist with yearly budget preparation as needed
  • Process and review monthly/quarterly rent determination requirements

Requirements:

  • Goal oriented with at least 1 year of Accounting experience
  • College Degree in Accounting (preferred)
  • Experience with Excel and Accounting systems (Ex: Financial Edge, Netsuite…)
  • Demonstrates a passion for MJH’s organizational mission

Position Details:

  • Reports to the Accounting Manager
  • Covered by the DC-37 collective bargaining agreement
  • Hourly compensation rate of $22.50
  • Full-time, 40 hours weekly
