Join the Museum for the 22nd Annual Fanya Gottesfeld Heller Conference for Educators, featuring a virtual lecture by Ms. Alexandra Zapruder. Ms. Zapruder will introduce Dispatches from Quarantine: Young People on COVID-19, a project to capture the real-time accounts of young people’s experiences of the pandemic in writing, art, photography, and music. An outgrowth of her decades of work on young writers’ Holocaust diaries and real-time accounts written in recent wars and genocides, Ms. Zapruder has grown increasingly interested in the ways that young people in the present day can make significant contributions to the historical and literary record. Dispatches offers valuable insights into the lived experiences of teens during COVID-19 and raises broader questions about how we can incorporate young people’s voices and perspectives into the public record for the benefit of themselves and posterity.

CTLE credit is available for this 1.5 hour online program. This event is open to active classroom teachers only.

This program is made possible through the generous sponsorship of the family of Mrs. Fanya Gottesfeld Heller, z”l.
