This Election Day, learn from scholars about acts of rescue during the Holocaust. Bonnie Gurewitsch, former archivist and curator at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, will speak on the topic of American Jewish rescuers and the challenges they faced with U.S. immigration policy. Professor Thorsten Wagner, Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics (FASPE), will lecture on the incredible rescue of Danish Jews during World War II. Teachers will also hear testimony from a Holocaust survivor. After the conclusion of the program, teachers are invited to a complimentary audio tour of the exhibition Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away.
Participants will earn CTLE hours. This program is open to active classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and school administrators.
