In the 1960 epic film Exodus (210 minutes, English, no subtitles), Paul Newman stars as Ari Ben Canaan, a Haganah rebel who smuggles Jews out of a British internment camp and onto a ship bound for Palestine. Facing the challenges of deep-rooted antisemitism and British rule over Palestine, Ari fights for his homeland and his people.
Exodus won an Academy Award for Best Original Score and played a significant role in inspiring support for Israel in the United States when it was first released.
