Eyes of the World: Robert Capa, Gerda Taro, and the Invention of Modern Photojournalism

With authors Marc Aronson and Marina Budhos

Robert Capa is known as the world greatest war photographer, but before he met his future wife, Gerda Taro, in 1930’s Paris, he was Andre Friedmann, a scruffy Hungarian refugee. Fleeing fascism, these two Jewish artists invented modern photojournalism and created a new visual language for bearing witness.
