Join us for a screening of the documentary The Liberators: Why We Fought (HISTORY original production, 2015; 53 minutes), directed by Emanuel Rotstein, and then hear testimony from Holocaust survivor Ben Lesser, who is featured in the film.
The Liberators looks back at the true story of American GIs whose final march across Germany led to a place beyond their imagination. On April 29, 1945, these U.S. troops liberated the Dachau concentration camp.
Guest speaker Mr. Lesser was liberated from Dachau, having survived four concentration camps. He is an accomplished author and speaker who will share his story with a New York audience for the first time on this special evening.
