Charlotte Apter is the Assistant Curator, Collections at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, where she is responsible for new acquisitions, cataloging, and interpretation of the Museum’s Permanent Collection. Charlotte specializes in Yiddish-language material as well as Eastern European Jewish History and culture before the Holocaust. Prior to joining the curatorial team, Charlotte worked in the Museum’s Education department. She also served as a Bibliography Fellow at the Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, MA where she helped research, translate, and curate the groundbreaking exhibition Yiddish: A Global Culture which opened in October of 2023. Additionally, Charlotte worked as an Archival Researcher at YIVO and as a Yiddish teacher for kids at the Worker’s Circle school in Brooklyn.
