The Power of Storytelling to Teach the Holocaust

Fanya Gottesfeld Heller and Joseph Heller Professional Development Series

How do you help kids emotionally connect to the history of the Holocaust? How can you turn a collection of facts into a powerful story that expands empathy beyond the classroom? Jack Fairweather, international bestselling author of two books about Holocaust heroes, shares how a biographical approach to teaching history can transform how students relate to the past. He will explain his approach to storytelling and offer techniques and tips for introducing this method into classrooms, based on his own work engaging with students across the country.

Participants will be eligible to receive CTLE credit.
