One of the most moving ways to learn about the Holocaust is through literature and film. Join us for a seminar designed for teachers in Jewish schools as we learn from Avi Patt, Professor of Modern Jewish History at the University of Hartford, and Alan Marcus, Associate Professor of Curriculum & Instruction at the University of Connecticut, how literature and film can make our Holocaust teaching richer and more meaningful. In addition to exploring the best materials to use in the classroom, participants will have the opportunity to analyze sources in small groups.
Shoah Teaching Alternatives for Jewish Educators (STAJE) at the Museum of Jewish of Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust is a professional development program for teachers in Jewish schools that is offered at no charge. Advance registration is required.
