Step back in time for a virtual walking tour of Venice, Italy, where we’ll delve into the rich Jewish heritage of one of the world’s most enchanting cities. Our journey will begin in 1516 when the Venetian Ghetto was established. Discover the architectural marvels of the Ghetto, including some of the world’s oldest “skyscrapers,” along with significant cultural milestones such as the first staging of William Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice. We’ll continue through the liberation of the Ghetto during Napoleon’s march on Venice in 1797 to the dark days of Nazi occupation beginning in 1943.
