Whitechapel, the old Jewish quarter of London, was a 19th and early 20th century center of London’s Jewish community. Our guide Sam, whose family has Jewish roots in this area, will take us on a live, virtual journey through time. Our tour will start with a visit to the famous Bevis Marks Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in the United Kingdom. Next, we will explore the streets and byways of the Jewish East End, historic mercantile Brick Lane, and Spitalfields Market. Learn all about the history of Jewish life in London and gain insight into what it is like today.

Please note: The Museum’s virtual walking tours are live-only events and will not be available to watch after the event is over. Also, event times are in Eastern time; use this time zone converter to see what time it will be in the city being toured.
