Molly Stibel was born in 1923 in a village in eastern Poland. As a blonde, blue-eyed 17 year old, she, an older sister and younger brother survived the war by obtaining false papers identifying them as gentiles, escaping a ghetto and working on farms in the nearby countryside.

In 1945 she met her husband, Isak, also a Holocaust survivor. They spent several years in a displaced persons camp in Germany before emigrating to the lower East side of New York with their young children. They settled on a chicken farm in Dorothy, New Jersey and subsequently ran a guest house in Atlantic City for 42 years.

In 2010, they moved to Sunrise Senior Living in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. to be near their daughter. Isak died in 2011 at age 93. Molly passed away on May 28, 2020 at age 97. She is survived by her brother Icchak, children Brenda and Frank, grandchildren, Jeremy and Rebecca (Josh), and great-grandchildren, Aviva and Dane.
