New York City’s Museum of Jewish Heritage — A Living Memorial to the Holocaust will host its online spring women’s luncheon on Thursday, May 6, at noon. The luncheon, a charitable event benefitting the museum, will feature Emmy-award-winning journalist Stacey Delikat in conversation with Tova Friedman, a child survivor of Auschwitz. Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney will give remarks on the importance of Holocaust education.
Program co-chairs include Ann Oster of Englewood, Stacey Saiontz, Patti Kenner, Kathy Gantz, and Minna Seitelman.
Stacey Delikat, an Emmy-award-winning journalist and the granddaughter of two Holocaust survivors, will interview Tova as she tells her story. Her paternal grandparents, Pearl and Otto Delikat, survived Auschwitz. Stacey tells her grandparents’ Holocaust survival stories with middle and high school students in the tristate area.
Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney will talk about legislation she sponsored to improve and support Holocaust education in schools across the country. The Never Again Education Act, which was passed and signed into law in 2020, bolsters educational resources for teachers and schools. In addition to the event on May 6, the museum will host an online silent auction.
