The leadership, staff, and community of the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust are profoundly saddened by the horrific slaughter of worshippers in two mosques in New Zealand on Thursday.

We stand in solidarity with the victims’ families and communities. In their honor, we renew our commitment to working toward a future when everyone will recognize the sanctity of every other person so that we may all live in harmony and security.

Rejecting brutality and violence is only the beginning of a long and necessary struggle.

Eradicating it requires us to raise our voices, dedicate ourselves and our communities, and create spaces where people of all faiths, ethnicities, and identities can gather to remember and learn.

The Museum remains steadfast in welcoming all to consider the painful lessons of the past so that they may help us to envision a world worthy of our futures.
