The Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust vehemently condemns the violent antisemitic attack that took place yesterday in Jersey City, New Jersey. We are in mourning with our neighbors across the Hudson River for the loss of life and broken peace caused by this heinous act of pure hatred.
Both Jersey City and the Museum have Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty in view, and their spirit of welcome and enlightenment are intrinsic to the United States of America. We recommit that the Museum will lead in educating people of all backgrounds about the dangers of hate and the importance of fostering mutual respect and understanding.
